Procedure for Shipping Adult Fish
Time Deadlines:
International shipments should be sent out on Monday or Friday. This allows time for the fish to wait in customs.
Supplies Needed
Boxes: Styrofoam box nested in a cardboard box.
Plastic bags (square bottom and non-square bottom) are used for adult fish. Standard bag size for 20 fish is 10“ X 18”.
ClorAM-X Ammonia Binder: use 1.5ml ClorAM-X per liter of fish water
Pure oxygen (not required, but recommended)
Rubber-bands.
Labels: Biological samples, address and courier labels.
Packing Styrofoam peanuts. Avoid using dissolvable peanuts.
Heat Packs: For winter shipments only.
